Not so amazing. Things used to be built to last. That's why I'm still using a 1974 washing machine, a 1960-something range and refrigerator, and upright freezer, and a 1952 hot water heater. I have no idea how old the oil stove is but these were manufactured in the 1940's. I've always assumed it was in the house when my father bought it - and this house was built around 1935.
