Sounds great, Bruce. Have fun! Luna will feel right at home. I can appreciate your thoughts on the crowds, Effie. I’m planning to get there around 7 AM, and camp out, since they said they will close the road once they reach saturation. Hope I get in. Supposed to be a number of ranger activities, an Astrophysicist, but no astronaut. Big festival in Nashville al weekend, but doubt I want to brave those kind of crowds.

I'll be at the Airstream Blackout Rally in Madras, OR. It's a private event sponsored by the local Airstream club, including sun and star watching parties, a NASA astronaut, a professional astronomer, a Science teacher and lots of good cooking. Sounds like it's gonna be a great time!

You guys traveling to see the eclipse? Totality in Salem and the Oregon Coast.
I'll be in Cades Cove in Great Smoky Mountain National Park, solar binoculars and eclipse glasses in hand. Dusted off my old Canon with a 500 mm lens and a 3x teleconverter, and bought a solar filter. All that's still needed is good weather.
