I also really enjoyed the documentary. Ok, I’ll post the LA Times link, the Amazon link and the availability on Netflix, along with my personal experience with owning the original box set. It proudly sits on my coffee table and is a source of interested discussion whenever I have guests over. Very cool to play the recordings. One amusing anecdote: I had linked my phone to a customer service guy from Apple when trying to move my audio files to the new phone. He saw the icon for the boxed set “CD” audio I had downloaded, which comes with the boxed set in addition to the actual records, and immediately recognized it as the diagram on Voyager showing how to play the recordings. So for the next 10-15 minutes, the conversation turned from transferring my audio to everything about the boxed set, and how cool it was to think we had 2 satellites among the stars. I mentioned the Starman connection, and he remembered the movie, but not the TV show. <sigh>
Bedtime back here, so I’ll work on that post tomorrow. Can’t wait to read your supplemental material, Todd. Any news on the shooting sites info? If I can help in any way on that, let me know.

I just finished watching it on Netflix. It's awesome!
Chuck, I started writing in this reply about the Voyager connection to episode #14, "The Probe," then realized it would probably be of general interest if I posted it on the main STARMANET mailing list. Would you mind posting your latimes.com link there, and maybe info about the boxed set?
I could then do a follow-up post with info about the connection to the episode. I had exchanges with Syrie Astrahan James who wrote the episode, and with Dr. Rich Terrile, a scientist at JPL. Syrie doesn't remember the scientist she interviewed at JPL, but Rich thinks it was probably him. Rich is featured prominently in this documentary. I had planned to make this an article in BLUE LIGHTS but we ceased publication before that could happen.
If you'd rather, I can post your info, but I would want to credit the info to "Chuck S" unless you want something different used. If you want to post the Amazon link and about it being on Netflix, that's perfectly OK with me, and actually I'd prefer that so that I can make my post only about the info I was going to put in BL.
