At least that's what it looks like to me. In truth it is the major east-west highway in the state that's been closed since Monday evening. It's not going to be opened today. They are doing avalanche control/blasting and plowing again today. Even for up there, 53 inches of snow in two days is a lot. The dentist office called yesterday and rescheduled my appointment for 3 weeks from now. Yet here, today, the roads are bare & wet and very passable. It's just adds more insult to injury that I cancelled my appointment last Wednesday because I was afraid of the snow. Then, that day was perfectly fine. Effie

Grindewald movie

I watched the second one today. It is a typical "middle" of a movie series. There were lots of things going on, lots of people, lots of creatures, lots of confusion. I really would rather these were books instead of movies. This movie was a waste of 2 hours of my life. A couple of thoughts (non-spoiler) if you do decide to see it. Johnny Depp is almost unrecognizable. This movie takes place in 1927. I don't know you much you remember about Grindewald from the books or other movies. One of Grindewald's reasons that the magical world needs to dominate muggles (or nomag as they are called in the US) is to prevent WWII from happening. One of the unexplained things in the movie is how does a wizard in 1927 have images of bombed out London or an A-bomb explosion? The story needs detail, and backstory but doing it in a movie simply doesn't work.

Mars Landing!

Was watching the NASA feed from Jet Propulsion Labs. 50 some scientists and engineers each assigned a monitor and all dressed in maroon uniforms out of Star Trek, and all with apprehensive excitement on their faces. On touchdown, room erupted like it was New Years in Times Square. First picture produced another eruption of pure glee. Way cool!
