And yet again explains why I continue to volunteer here in Toppenish even though the people in this office aren't the most pleasant to be around. A couple came in who were from Switzerland. He spoke very little English. He had a rental car that was giving him a message. He had me call Thrifty for him because he wouldn't understand on the phone. Long story short - the car rental people got someone on the phone who spoke French so he could get answers. Then I used Babelfish to ask him a couple of other questions. Thrifty told him he'd have to take the car back to Portland to get it replaced - not surprising - but through the computer translation I was able to ask him if he needed car service. That is why I enjoy doing this! Effie

I ran across this picture is a free magazine that is published for parents. We get bundles of them at the rail museum and I was passing the time looking through it. When I got to the picture on the last page I laughed out loud. Going online I found the electronic version of the magazine and send you guys the URL. http://www.playdateyakima.com/2014/05/07/gotcha/ The little girl is looking at a Fiesta Foods grocery ad. Is it any wonder I thought that might have been me??? I know I kept boxes of papers I'd cut out of magazines. Were they ads? I don't remember. Anyway, the picture made me laugh. I can read upside down also, just like this girl is doing. :) Effie
