- What: Potluck BBQ picnic at the park. Bring your chairs, blankets,
sports stuff, anything you like.

So sorry I haven¹t gotten to this sooner (though I figure most of you who were close to Annemarie Schomaker and were in touch by email will have gotten this invitation directly from the family). For some months, I¹ve been working on a post about her and others who are now Among the Stars. Unfortunately due largely to family medical issues -- the message still isn¹t finished, and I really MUST get this info out.
Below is a forwarded post I received from Annemarie¹s granddaughter Kris Schomaker (black text). Please note what she says about wearing BLUE!
Below that is a repeat posting of the original notice Kris¹s brother Tim Schomaker (red text) sent out the day Annemarie passed (photos mentioned are not included, but watch for more info in that other post I¹m working on).
I wish I could get down to Southern Cal, but that¹s just impossible, so I hope some of you all who live in the area will be able to go and honor the life of an amazing woman who did so much in the earliest years of our organization and in the next two decades, plus (more to come on all that).

Hi everyone,
The picnic is coming up fast... We can't wait to see everyone and celebrate my grandma's life. If you would like to wear blue, I think my Grandma would love that :))) And we would love to share stories about her and her life. She did love stories.
For as many years as I can remember our family has had a Mothers day picnic on Fathers day :)) My grandma, Annemarie Schomaker, used to plan the picnic. I think they moved the Mothers day picnic to Fathers day because the weather was much warmer and nicer. We would love to invite you to this years picnic to celebrate the life of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend Annemarie. As you all know she was an amazing woman. One of a kind in our eyes. We think about her and miss her every day. We felt she would love this idea of a picnic where all her family and friends got together. She adored her family and friends. Please join us for a potluck picnic on Sunday June 16th starting at 10-11am at Wardlow Park in Long Beach. Bring your baseball mitts and any other fun games to play!!
