Hello Everyone,
Vicki asked me to mention that there are still a limited number of rooms
available at The Hacienda at our discounted price from her special stash.
Contact her to book one of these as soon as possible.
With Family Con 2014 just around the corner, thought I'd re-mention our
private Snapfish Room where we have posted and can enjoy photos from all
Starman Family Cons and other Starman related photo memorabilia. For you new
folks who haven't been to a Family Con, and thinking of going, check out any
of the albums and see what it's all about. You'll feel like you've been
there! Our staunch photographers clearly learned a thing or two from Paul
Forrester, and have posted photojournalism quality pictures for all of us to
enjoy. There are of course lots of pictures of the cast and other
StarStaffers included. See what Christopher Barnes looked like in 2006- it
will surprise you. We'd love to have you add any photos from this year or
any past years' Family Cons that you would like to share, and the site makes
for easy uploads to do that.
For those of you new to Snapfish, this is the photo upload site run by
Hewlett Packard that provides secure "rooms" for people to upload and view
pictures, as well as order prints, photo mugs, large posters, etc. It is
password protected and also protects the pictures from inadvertent "editing"
or deletion, since only the owner who uploaded them can edit or remove them.
Getting access to our Snapfish room is easy and only requires you
registering with your email and individual password if you don't already
have a Snapfish account. Full directions are as follows:
QUICK AND EASY ACCESS TO THE STARMAN FAMILY CON PICTURE SITE:
1. Go to:
http://www2.snapfish.com/snapfish/groups/starmanfamilycon/cobrandOid=1000
2a. If you have a Snapfish account, just log in with your email address and
password.
2b. If you do not have an account, you will need to establish one. Just
click on the appropriate button to the right. Your email address and your
own password gets you signed up. Return to
<http://starmanfamilycon.snapfish.com> the above website and log in.
3. The first time you enter the STARMAN Family Con room, you will be asked
for the room code. It is "starman" in lower case. From now on you will not
be asked to enter the room code again, as it is now tied to your id and
password on the system.
4. You're in! You may view all albums, but only add, change, or delete
albums you have posted. There are buttons on the right to do this, as well
as ordering prints, mugs, etc. if you like.
5. Upload any pictures or albums from any Starman gathering you wish to
share, so we can all enjoy the nostalgia of 25+ years of celebrating
STARMAN. Albums can contain an unlimited number of pictures or as few as
one. In the title, put your own name so that people will know whose photos
they are (e.g., "Chuck's SFC 2000 Photos"). You can also customize your
album cover with themes and a cover picture to enhance its appearance, and
you can image correct your pictures before you post them. Just follow the
menus.
6. If anyone has problems accessing, viewing, or uploading, contact me off
list at <mailto:starview@mindspring.com> starview(a)mindspring.com.
Enjoy what we looked like a generation ago. It's all "become a part of us"
now.
Blue Lights,
Chuck S.
