Posted by Todd Andrews (starman(a)pobox.com) Chris Hadfield is a Canadian astronaut who had been aboard the International Space Station (ISS) for about five months from last December 19 returning to Earth on May 13. In addition to being the first Canadian Commander of the ISS, he is also the first person to Tweet a message from space using the Irish language known as Gaeilge. The first book is still called What the Heart Knows, but the second is now Where the Heart Lives, and the third (which Mara and I are working on now for publication in JAN 2014) will be Why Hearts Keep Secrets. The storylines you may remember have been wonderfully expanded and enhanced, and the novels themselves are complimented by prequel short stories. I¹m also pleased and relieved to say that, as a result of my visual challenges, my editing buddy. Jean Laidig, joined the MH team in 2012 as our peregrine-eyed proofreader, beginning with Book Two, Where the Heart Lives (WTHL). (Jean¹s now also editing titles by other authors at Bellekeep.) Incidentally, those of you who¹ve attended SFCs since 2008 may be interested to find our Hacienda Hotel in Where the Heart Lives, along with the city of El Segundo, CA and information about the ³Official STARMAN Insect²: the El Segundo Blue Butterfly. The MH series combines not only a murder mystery & investigation, several hot romances & personality conflicts among the complex and sometimes quirky characters, but also a wealth of information/insight into environmental & wildlife issues. One of our most beloved and supportive StarStaffers, Mike Gray, left us---far too soon---on Tuesday, April 29, 2013. He was a producer, director, and writer on the series and attended numerous FAMILY-CONs. Unfortunately, he was unable to join us in 2010 or, most recently, last October for SFC 2012. His books (which he donated for sale benefiting SFC) have been featured every year at STARMAN BookNights. Mike was a thoughtful and generous man, very appreciative of all our SSI efforts. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him and value all his work to make ours a better planet. I received messages from both George Wells and from Liz Turner, who sent me the link that Michele Azuddin posted on Facebook (unfortunately, I don¹t do Facebook).
